Keep Them Safe with These Tips

Ahh, summer vacation.  A chance to ditch those office shoes and set your little piggies free! But it’s wise to stay smart when it comes to protecting your feet at the pool or beach – and even in hotel rooms – says the American Podiatric Medical Association. Luckily, doing that can be as easy as slipping into a pair of flip flops.

Limit walking barefoot, as it exposes feet to sunburn as well as plantar warts, athlete’s foot, ringworm and other infections. It also increases risk of injury to your feet. Wear shoes or flip flops around the pool, to the beach, in the locker room, and even on the carpeting or in the bathroom of your hotel room to prevent injuries and limit the likelihood of contracting a bacterial infection.
